Zaggmate iPad Case with Keyboard – Review
Zaggmate – The perfect companion for your Apple iPad.
As most of you are aware about the difficulty that one faces while answering to emails and taking notes on the iPad. Apple has, however, made a provision for connecting a bluetooth keyboard to the iPad which makes typing an easy task. There are many iPad cases with a built-in Bluetooth keyboard available in market, but the Zaggmate iPad Case beats them all with its sleek, light weight and stylish design with unique features.
Zaggmate Design
The Zaggmate case is made up of Aircraft grade aluminum and it matches the iPad metal finish. One may not even distinguish the difference if the Zaggmate icon was missing. It is bit bigger than the iPad itself but it is lightweight. A small micro USB port is provided on the left side of the device for recharging. Pairing with Zaggmate is easy as it has a power switch as well as a Bluetooth pairing button.
Zaggmate is designed to wrap the screen, so while traveling you have to just insert your iPad into the case upside down. This way it just gives protection to the front portion of iPad and not the back. When you wish to use it, you have to take out the iPad out of the Zaggmate case, bring the plastic tab forward so that ipad can be set vertically in the slot provided above the keyboard. Using zaggmate on desk is more comfortable than using it in your lap. I t has an innovative hinge design which supports viewing and typing angles in both landscape and portrait and modes.
Zaggmate Keyboard and Special keys
The size of the Zaggmate keyboard is exactly the same size as a 10? netbook. Though it is not a full-size keyboard, it is a big improvement over the iPad’s virtual keybaoard. Controlling the volume with Zaggmate keyboard is easy as you don’t have to press the function key first. Buttons are provided to Search, go back to the Home screen and launch a slideshow. Shortcut keys with Zaggmate work in almost all applications. The keys positioned at the outer edges e.g. Control, Fn, and arrow keys are difficult to use in the beginning till you get used to the layout of the case. You can either stop/start/skip tunes or adjust the volume of iPad with the media keys set provided with the Zaggmate. Zaggmate come with shortcut keys which can be used to lock the device, to search the iPad’s content and to pop up the virtual keyboard when needed.
Again you will find a ‘globe’ key at the top of the zaggmate’s right corner. The Zaggmate’s keyboard is much like a conventional keyboard and keys do not have a rubber covering which makes typing work easier. However, the size of keys is same as a 10 inch netbook. The software of iPad doesn’t allow a hotkey for some apps.
Zaggmate Long-life Battery
510 mAh rechargeable lithium polymer battery is used in Zaggmate which will last for several weeks of normal use without charging. The battery size is double the size of the normal Bluetooth keyboards, so it doesn’t need frequent charging. The recharged battery can last for months.
Zaggmate with keyboard can truly replace a laptop. You can buy Zaggmate iPad case keyboard version for $99.99 and a Zaggmate iPad case without keyboard for $69.99.
