Apple iPad pricing compared with Kindle Sony Reader and JooJoo
When Apple iPad was launched in April 2010, many thought that the iPad prices would be sky high, probably in excess of one thousand dollars. But to the delight of many, the iPad was priced at an affordable four hundred and ninety nine dollars only. No doubt, Apple has been a pioneer in introducing electronic gadgets with the most innovative features. There are essentially three iPad models dominating the markets. They are the 64GB, 32GB and 16GB priced at $699, $599 and $499 respectively.
If a user wishes to go for an iPad with 3G and Wi-Fi, he would have to shell out an additional $130. AT&T has come up with two wonderful 3G plans for the device which already consists of the Wi-Fi facility. One of the plans consists of unlimited usage and it comes at a price of $29.99 per month. The other plan comes at a price of $14.99 with data usage up to 250MB per month. Now let us look at the other alternatives.
The most popular model among Apple iPads is the 16GB model which comes at an attractive price of $499. The touch screen looks sophisticated and there is an optional extension keyboard. This iPad model boasts of a LCD screen around 9.7 inches in size. A user can perform a plethora of functions. Now the question arises as to what would be the total cost of buying the 16GB iPad including the shipping cost. It has a memory of about 2GB that can support around one thousand and five hundred books. It supports various formats and is priced at $360. Now the most recent six inch screen Kindle is priced at $259 and the shipping is free in US.
The Sony Reader with the Digital touch facility is priced at $199 and the shipping is free. The JooJoo is priced at $499 in the UK. With so many models in the market, the Apple iPad still ranks foremost in the market, not only because of its attractive price, but also because of its numerous features and facilities.
