Could Apple iPad Kill the Kindle?
Is there a possibility that Apple’s iPad can replace Amazon’s Kindle?
Maybe it could have. The iPad has more features in comparison with the Kindle DX and is not just an eReader like the Kindle.
The strategies both Apple and Amazon use in their business are totally complimentary. Amazon got involved in a business that was totally out of their depth – hardware – just so they could use it to sell their e-books by the introduction of the Kindle for e-reading. For a business that has sold content, this was an entirely new kettle of fish, but they did it. They now have plans to sell e-textbooks with Kindle DX. Apple – the pioneers in hardware technology and unique gadgetry – got into a new field with the introduction of the iPad – selling content readers. With its reputation of selling iPods online from its media store, it traded hardware becoming the world leader in the field.
Apple states that the Netbook they have on the market is the iPod touch. The iPad is not only a look alike but it is also a bigger version of the iPod touch.
Notebooks are said to have been cannibalized by netbooks. Which is why Apple dislikes Netbooks. Which is the reason they decided to introduce the iPad which is not a replacement of any existing device sold by Apple currently. You can prop the iPad next to your bed or recline with it on a chair or couch or also park it on your tray table in an airplane and also simultaneously use other devices you may be carrying.
Using the iPad is simple because it is user friendly. You can surf the net or listen to your music while simultaneously using the iPad like you would use a Kindle.

Thanks for this comparison review. One of the reasons why I purchased the iPad was that I wanted a single gadget that I could use as an e-Reader apart from using it for sending mails, editing photos etc. Though I own a Kindle and I like the non-glaring kindle reader, I love my iPad too.
